Melogen ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our web application at melogen.app (the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Email address — used for authentication (Magic Link sign-in), subscription management, and service communications.
Payment information — processed through Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your credit card details. We receive your email and order ID for subscription verification.
When you use the Service to import, edit, or export music, we collect:
Important: By using the Service, you consent to the collection of your musical content data, including exported MIDI files. This collection is integral to the Service and cannot be opted out of.
We automatically collect: browser type, pages visited, features used, access timestamps, referring website, and general location (country/region level).
Authentication cookies — to keep you signed in. Preference cookies — to store your editor settings. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
To authenticate your identity, manage subscriptions, send Magic Link sign-in emails, communicate service updates, process payments, and verify Pro status.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with: Lemon Squeezy (payment processing), Resend (authentication and service emails), Vercel and Supabase/AWS (hosting and infrastructure), and as required by law. Anonymized musical data may be shared for research purposes.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request access, correction, deletion (note: anonymized musical data and data in AI training sets cannot be deleted), or data portability. Contact us at adamli0526@gmail.com.
The Service is not for users under 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

By accessing or using Melogen at melogen.app (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Melogen is a web-based tool that allows users to import AI-generated musical content, edit it in a piano roll interface, play it back, and export it as MIDI files. The Service offers both free and paid (Pro) tiers.
You must provide a valid email address to access Pro features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your Magic Link or allow others to access your account.
Pro subscriptions are processed through Lemon Squeezy. Pricing and features are as displayed at the time of purchase. Refund policies are governed by Lemon Squeezy's terms.
You retain ownership of the original musical ideas and compositions you create.
License Grant
By using the Service, you grant Melogen a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to: collect, store, and analyze all musical content you import, edit, or export through the Service, including MIDI files; use such data to train, develop, and improve AI models and algorithms for music generation; use such data for product improvement, quality analysis, and feature development; and use anonymized versions of such data for research and publication purposes. This license survives termination of your account.
You acknowledge that: musical content data collection is integral to the Service; data incorporated into AI model training cannot be individually removed; and anonymized data may be retained and used permanently.
You agree not to: reverse engineer or decompile the Service; use the Service to infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights; attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or payment requirements; overload or interfere with the Service's infrastructure; or use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service.
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Melogen. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.
The Service integrates with third-party AI language models (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, etc.) for content import. We are not responsible for the content generated by these services or their availability.
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Melogen shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends, but our license to collected musical data persists as described in Section 5.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
